Over the last decades, data has become a cornerstone for multidisciplinary research, digital and precision health. At the LIH, the Data Integration and Analysis unit (DIA) is the central unit in charge of promoting and ensuring that researchers and clinicians can fully leverage patient information. With its expertise in Information Technologies (IT) and data science, the DIA assists and supports medical research at LIH and at a national level.The primary mission of the DIA is to provide and maintain a safe and secure IT ecosystem for researchers and clinicians, where they can collect, store, analyse and share data from different sources, ranging from studies, registries, laboratories, health systems and public datasets. This includes establishing and maintaining a national data integration centre, in close collaboration with national partners, to enable the gathering, management and dissemination of interoperable health data.

Job description
We are looking for a motivated and organized IT Project Manager to join our team. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan.
KEY accountabilities
  • Develop and implement standardized processes across the IT teams.
  • Carry out administrative tasks like budgeting, project documentation or reporting.
  • Establish a centralized project management system to effectively coordinate a wide range of activities across the IT unit.
  • Define project objectives, oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.
  • Develop project plans and associated communications documents.
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Set and manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.


KEY SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, IT or Management is preferred. Candidates with Academic background in Sciences or Engineering will also be considered.
  • Sound project management experience is essential, preferably with experience in healthcare or medical research.
  • IT project management experience is a plus but is not mandatory.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of German and/or French is a strong asset.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively articulate complex, technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques and tools including planning, resource allocation, and execution.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
